Day 5 - 1/5/09 - Movie #5

BEFORE: This animated feature is like the "Casablanca" of animation - meaning every time I start to watch it, I lose interest. But yet I respect it, and realize how important a film it is. Plus 1/2 of the voices were done by the cast of SCTV, so let's see if I can make it through this time. I just taped "Heavy Metal 2000" off cable, and I'd like to say I watched this one first.

THE PLOT: A glowing orb terrorizes a young girl with a collection of stories of dark fantasy, eroticism and horror.

AFTER: I made it through the film! Finally! My geek cred goes up! Though there is a unifying element to the stories, it's still very disjointed. And that last tale was a bit too close to torture-porn for me. None of the stories seemed to have a point or a payoff, like, say, an episode of the "Twilight Zone". Still, I'm happy to finally "get" this movie, whatever there was to get, I don't think there was much.

RATING: 4 out of 10 Loc-Nars, and I'm being generous.
